MCP Server Kit ยท Live demo
Try a remote MCP server in your own assistant.
This is a running Model Context Protocol (MCP) server built with the kit. Connect an MCP client to it and your assistant gets a few tools that read a small set of example notes.
The endpoint
https://mcp-production-fe90.up.railway.app/mcp- No sign-in
- Read-only
- Example data
- MCP over Streamable HTTP
Connect
Connect in a minute
The endpoint is for an MCP client. There is nothing to see at that address in a browser. If your client offers to authenticate, skip it: this demo has no sign-in to complete.
From Claude
- Open Customize, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Enter a name, and this URL as the remote MCP server URL:
https://mcp-production-fe90.up.railway.app/mcp - If you are asked how people connect, choose No sign-in.
- Choose Add.
- In a chat, open the + menu, choose Connectors, and turn the connector on.
The dialog differs between plans and organizations. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds custom connectors in the organization settings. The current steps are in the Claude documentation on custom connectors.
From Claude Code
Add it
claude mcp add --transport http kit-demo https://mcp-production-fe90.up.railway.app/mcpThen run /mcp inside Claude Code to see that it is connected.
Remove it again
claude mcp remove kit-demoThe current commands are in the Claude Code documentation on MCP.
Tools
Tools in this demo
Each one calls the example notes API behind this server.
list_notesLists your organization's notes, newest first, as id, title and last-updated time. Returns up to 50 per call; when there are more, the result ends with the cursor to pass to get the next page. To find notes about a topic use search_notes instead. To see a note's text use read_note.
search_notesFinds notes in your organization whose title or text contains the given words, newest first, with a short excerpt of each. Use it when you are looking for something specific. It matches the exact phrase, so prefer one or two distinctive words. To read a whole note, pass its note_id to read_note.
read_noteReturns the text of one note by note_id (from list_notes or search_notes). Returns up to 8000 characters per call; if the note is longer, the result ends with the offset to pass to read the next part.

Things to try

Demo and kit
What is different in the kit
This demo has no sign-in. That part is switched off here so that you can try it without an account.
| Topic | This demo | The kit |
|---|---|---|
| Who you are | Everyone is the same demo user in the same demo organization. | It signs each person in through your identity provider and works out which organization they belong to. |
| Data | Fixed example notes. | Your API, with every call scoped to the caller's organization. |
| Tools | Read-only tools only. | Read and write tools, with a policy for who may call which. |
| Limits | 30 requests a minute for each address. Past that the server answers 429 and says how long to wait. | Budgets for each address, user, organization and tool, in memory or in Redis. |
The kit
Put this in front of your own API.
The kit is the full source of this server, with sign-in, organization scoping, rate limits and usage tracking switched on.
